New information - 3/15/2020:
The CDC has recommended no communal dining or group activities in long term care. Pinecrest has moved meal service to resident rooms/apartments for Pinecrest Manor and Village. For the safety of our residents, Pinecrest Terrace will not change meal service due to the nature of the unit. Chapel and group activities have been canceled until this restriction is lifted by CDC.
As you can imagine, these requirements are very isolating for our residents. Our staff will be offering individual activities and visits in resident rooms and our chaplain will be visiting and providing spiritual care for residents as well. We'd love your help! If you're looking for ways to keep your children busy while they are off school, would you consider having them make a card or a picture for our residents? You could mail them to "Any Resident", Pinecrest Manor, 414 S. Wesley Ave., Mt. Morris, IL 61054 or drop them off during our regular office hours Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. Our doors are locked, but there is a lobby phone that will dial our receptionist and she will gladly meet you at the door to pick them up.
The restrictions we are experiencing are unprecedented and we want to thank our staff, residents and families for the flexibility and understanding they have shown. Our staff go above and beyond every day, but situations like this shine a light on the excellent work that they do.
We are thankful to God for keeping our residents and staff safe and healthy. Please continue to pray for our residents and staff! We promise we are loving your residents until you can get back in to see them!
