COLOR ME A MEMORY (A dementia care activity)
Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer experience for one to four hours a month?
Color Me a Memory is an interactive time spent with Pinecrest Terrace residents, meeting Friday mornings from 9:45 to 10:45. During this time volunteers visit and share story memories with the participants while the residents create watercolor memories in paint.
The program is a rewarding experience for both the resident and the volunteer. As a volunteer, art skills are not required. The best resident experience happens when there is a one-to-one ratio between volunteers and participants, but more volunteers are needed to reach that goal.
If you would like more information about volunteering for this amazing program, contact Michelle Brown, Memory Care Manager, at mbrown@pinecrestcommunity.org or 815-734-1726.

We welcome the talents and compassion of those around us. Some of the ongoing needs include:

- Visitation (spend time getting to know our residents personally)
- Pianists and other musicians (for chapel services, to entertain residents during meals, and for special programs)
- Maintenance (occasional need for painters, yard work, cleaning, woodworking; tell us your skill, we probably have a place we can use it!)
- Mailing (folding, stuffing envelopes, labeling, etc)
- Special events (help us organize and host special events like our annual Christmas Open House and our recent 125 Anniversary Celebration)
- Meal servers for events like our Good Samaritan Fundraising Banquet and the Century 2 Club donor recognition luncheon
- Don't see something on the list for you? Tell us your skills and interests: we probably have a place we can help you engage!!
